GOODBYE'S

I was in a deep thought last week and the following lines came in. It's saying goodbye probably to someone, to a habit or to a thought that has become an excess in your life-- it's no longer needed. Then, I thought, it sounds like a poem? I thought I could not write something like this anymore.. But it was a try, after years of putting down pen for personal write-ups. :)

Why is it so hard to say goodbye?

So hard, that it makes you want to cry

Facing something that should end

Something that can no longer be mend

...

To say it's easy would be a lie

Something in you should somehow die

Knots of connection you now need to untie

...

Several reasons but still an endless why

Part of you is bitter and sometimes sad

But knowing it's for the better would not be that bad

Painful even if you won't try

Still, no regrets, if you ask why?
